L2S is not dead, but the debate surrounding it is a dead horse, beaten, resuscitated, and beaten some more. As final proof that it is not dead, Damien posts the Change Log for L2S in .NET 4.0: http://damieng.com/blog/2009/06/01/linq-to-sql-changes-in-net-40
So, it sounds like L2S continues to get better, even if EF is becoming the 'recommended' approach. I'm ready to give EF another try, but it's good to know our current L2S projects are safe and sound!
